Is anybody eligible to drive the motorhome?
Insurance can be provided for drivers between the ages of 21 and 75, who have held a full licence for a minimum of one years. All our vehicles are under 3.5 tonnes so can be driven using a standard licence.
Is a UK driving licence required to drive the motorhome?
We can provide insurance for non-UK licence holders between the ages of 21 and 75. However, you won’t need a specific International Driving Licence.
I have points on my license? Can I still drive the motorhome?
Yes, but if you currently have more than 8 points, we will not be able to provide insurance. An insurance surcharge applies per conviction. However, if you have any convictions over 3 years old - apart from DD DR and IN convictions – these do not need to be declared.
Does the cost of the hire include insurance?
Yes, you will be provided with fully comprehensive insurance.
Is there a minimum hire period?
Yes, there is a minimum hire period of 4 days, although we will consider a shorter hire depending on availability.
Should I buy my own insurance for the motorhome?
No, we supply the insurance to ensure an adequate level of cover is provided.
Can I take the motorhome abroad?
Travel is permitted to any European destination. EU travel surcharge may apply.
Does it cost more to take the motorhome aboad?
If you wish to travel to Europe, you are required to pay a refundable security deposit of £1250.00.
Are EU Travel Conversion kits supplied?
No, the hirer should Epurchase any EU Conversion kits prior to travel or from the outbound port or Channel Tunnel Terminal.
Can I take the motorhome through the Channel Tunnel?
Yes. Our vehicles don’t carry LPG gas, so they can all use the Channel Tunnel.
And what will happen if I break down?
All our vehicles are provided with full breakdown cover. The contact numbers are supplied within the motorhome.
Can I take a pet?
All our vehicles are pet-friendly. A charge of £6 per insurable day will apply unless the appropriate package is purchased which includes this element.
How many seat belts does each motorhome have?
  • The small (2 berth + small child) motorhomes have 4 seatbelts
  • The medium (6 berth) motorhomes have 6 seatbelts
  • The large (6 berth + small child) motorhomes have 6 seatbelts
Do you have any automatic vehicles?
No, all our vehicles have manual transmission.
How old are the motorhomes?
All motorhomes are under one years old and are regularly serviced, updated and well maintained.
What time can I collect and return my motorhome?
Your Depot Manager will supply your collection and return. Normally collection time is between 3.00 - 5.00 pm and return time is before 11.00am. The handover can take a little time, so please allow 1 hour at the point of collection. Fuall instructions for the vehicle will be demonstrated at this point.
What document do I need when collecting my motorhome?
  • Full valid license (Both the plastic photocard and the paper counterpart)
  • Passport (for overseas customers)
  • Rental agreement
Can I leave my car at the depot?
Yes, you can leave your car at our depot free of charge. Your car will be held secure in a locked, CCTV operated compound.
Is there a security deposit for the motorhome?
Yes, all hirers pay a security deposit. The amount is determined by the specifics of both the drivers/hirer details and the travel itinerary. In the following circumstances, a £1250.00 Refundable Security Bond is mandatory and the Collision Damage Waiver (see below) is not available:
  • Non UK Residents
  • Non UK Mainland travel
  • Drivers disclosing accidents, medical conditions & multiple endorsements
  • CDW has not been requested or paid for or hirer is ineligible to purchase this cover
  • Overseas Driving Licences
  • Drivers aged under 26 or over 69
  • High Risk Occupation Drivers - includes but not limited to those who are engaged in professional gambling, sport or entertainment including film & television, hawking or general dealing, street or marketing trading.
A £160.00 security deposit is the alternative option for those who are eligible to purchase the Collision Damage Waiver Insurance.
When will the security deposit be refunded?
Your bond will be refunded after 14 working days from the return date of the vehicle. This time period may be longer if the motorhome has been damaged.
Do you provide Collision Damage Waiver Insurance?
Yes, the Collision Damage Waiver Policy (CDW) reduces the extent of liability for damages in relation to the insurance policy from £1250.00 to £160.00 per insurable incident. CDW Policy Premium can be provided at £20.00 per insurable day (minimum £160.00).
Is the CDW available to all hirers?
No, if you fall into any of the categories below you are not eligible to purchase our CDW Cover:
  • Non-UK Residents
  • Non-UK Mainland travel
  • Drivers disclosing accidents, medical conditions & multiple endorsements in the past 3 years
  • CDW has not been requested or paid for or hirer is ineligible to purchase this cover
  • Overseas Driving Licences
  • Drivers aged under 26 or over 69
  • High-Risk Occupation Drivers - includes but not limited to those who are engaged in professional gambling, sport or entertainment including film & television, hawking or general dealing, street or marketing trading.
If I am not eligible to purchase Collision Damage Waiver what will I be required to pay?
If you are not eligible for the CDW you are required to pay the refundable security deposit of £1250.00 seven days before your period of hire is due to commence.
Is the motorhome winterised?
The motorhome provides hot air blown heating through the internal ventilation system. The diesel provides the heating in the fuel tank. Please note, the engine does not need to be running for the heating to work. Plus, minimal diesel fuel is used during this process.
Does the motorhome have air conditioning?
The main vehicle cab area provides air conditioning with cool air vents located throughout the rest of the vehicle.
What else is provided in the motorhome?
This is entirely dependant on the package you choose. Our Bronze, Silver, Gold and EU packages contain the various items listed below in each of our motorhomes:
  • Gas Bottle
  • Leisure battery
  • Shower and toilet
  • Gas hob/Grill
  • Fridge
  • Pots, pans and cooking utensils
  • Crockery, cutlery and wine glasses
  • Kettle
  • Kitchen starter pack (dishwashing liquid, tea towel, refuse bag, dish sponge and matches/gas igniter
  • Fire Extinguisher
  • First Aid Kit
  • CD or USB stereo system
Is there a cooker/hob and microwave?
The motorhome comes with a small grill and a 3-burner gas hob but has no microwave or oven.
Do the motorhomes have TVs?
If requested, a TV/DVD player can be allocated to your motorhome.
Is the gas supplied?
Yes, a gas bottle is provided. A bottle of gas can last for seven days or longer during summer months.
How many gas bottles will be supplied?
We supply one gas bottle.
Can I use this gas bottle if I go overseas?
If the gas runs out, you will need to obtain a pigtail connector to use with EU gas bottles- these can be supplied by the depot at your request.
Can I use the electric sockets in the motorhome if not attached to an electricity supply?
No, the plug sockets only work if the motorhome is hooked to a power supply. The motorhome’s leisure battery provides power for the lights and the water pump if mains electricity is not available. A fully charged leisure battery can last for up to 72 hours with conservative use. A mains electricity hook up cable is provided for connection to an electricity supply
Do you provide bedding?
Bedding can be ordered during the pre-hire administration process. An email will be sent to you during this process when you can request and pay for this. The cost of a double set is £39.00 and for a single set is £34.00. Each set includes duvet, duvet cover, bottom sheet, pillow(s), pillow slip(s), large towel(s) and small towel(s).
Does the motorhome have a Satellite Navigation System?
Sat Navs can be ordered as an extra during your booking process at a cost of £6.00 per insurable day.
What happens if I forget the the handopver instructions?
An instructional DVD is supplied for you to watch along with a manual and APP. Also, you will be provided with a telephone number, which you can ring for technical assistance.
What appliances work on gas within the motorhome?
  • The gas will run your hob/grill
  • Fridge (if not hooked up to an electricity supply)
  • Hot water
What are the benefits of hooking up to the mains electricity?
Plug sockets will be able to be used when connected to mains electricity. The fridge can be used whilst on mains electricity thus reducing the quantity of gas used. The leisure battery will recharge when connected to a power supply.
How many miles per gallon can I expect?
The motorhomes will do approximately 20-30 miles per gallon.
Is there a speed limit that applies when driving a motorhome?
The speed limit is 70mph.
How should I return my motorhome?
A charge of £100.00 can be applied if any these stipulations are not met by the hirer:
  • Vehicles are expected to be returned in a clean and tidy condition.
  • Motorhomes must be returned to the collection depot by 11 am (unless otherwise previously agreed with the Depot Manager)
  • All motorhomes must be returned with the same level of fuel as was present at the beginning of the period of hire
  • All motorhomes are required to be returned with an empty toilet cassette and an empty waste water tank, the contents of which are only to be disposed of at approved disposal points
  • Vehicles are expected to be returned in a clean and tidy condition, with:
  • All floors clean
  • Refuse removed
  • Bathroom clean and tidy
  • Surfaces wiped
  • Kitchen Itinerary washed and replaced in cupboards
Do the motorhomes have wheel chair access?
No, we do not have any vehicles with access suitable for wheelchairs.
Do you supply awnings?
No, we do not supply awnings.
Do the motorhomes have a tow bar?
No, none of our vehicles are fitted with a tow bar.
Does the motorhome have a bike rack?
Yes the motorhome comes fitted with a bike rack, which carries up to 4 bikes.
Can you provide baby/child seats and booster seats?
Baby/child seats are not provided. If you are unable to bring your own, please order a suitable seat from an online supplier requesting delivery directly to the collection depot. The fixing of the child seat will be within the normal 3-point seat belt in the rear of the vehicle. The depot managers will certainly be helpful to any hirer who is attaching the seat belt to a child seat. However, it is the parent or gaurdian’s responsibility to ensure the seat belt is securely attached to the baby/child seat. We do not have Isofix fittings for baby/child seats in our motorhomes. All child seats are required to be secured within a standard 3-point seat belt. We can provide a booster seat for which the daily hire charge is £2.00.
Can I request winter tyres?
No, we cannot accept a booking for which a specific tyre type. Snow chains are also not provided.
Whilst out in the motorhome, where can I park overnight?
In England, it is illegal to park overnight in an undesignated area e.g. roadside layby, supermarket or service area car parks. We recommend you book an approved campsite.
